Danu Ragdoll’s Mission Statement

 

A 6 week old blue bicolor ragdoll kitten enjoying the play area he and his littermates have to bounce, pounce, and tumble in. Danu is intentional with who we do business with. Our kittens and cats are loved the moment they reach us and we nurture them to the best of our ability so they reach you with the most relaxed temperament, the highest vitality, and of course, the elegance the ragdoll breed offers.

 

Danu Ragdoll’s Mission Statement

We have owned Ragdolls since 2009 and hence Danu’s cats are our pets first and foremost. We are a family owned small cattery, servicing southern California with an intentionally designed home so that nursing moms and newborns to playful and curious 6-8 week olds get exactly the care they need. The Danu Ragdoll mission of includes the following:

  • Preservation of Breed Standards: Maintain and improve the breed standards as defined by cat fancier associations and breed clubs.

  • Health and Genetics: Prioritize the health and genetic integrity of the cats, ensuring they are free from hereditary diseases and conditions.

  • Responsible Breeding Practices: Danu Ragdolls adhere to ethical and responsible breeding practices. To showcase our commitment, Danu has signed The International Cat Association’s Code of Ethics. 

  • Socialization and Temperament: Ensure kittens are well-socialized and have good temperaments, making them suitable for family life and companionship.

  • Education and Awareness: Educate potential cat owners and the public about the specific needs, characteristics, and care requirements of the breed.

  • Placement in Suitable Homes: Carefully select and screen potential owners to place kittens in loving, responsible, and suitable homes.

  • Contribution to the Community: Participate in and contribute to the broader cat breeding and showing community through competitions, exhibitions, and collaboration with other breeders.

  • Advancement of the Breed: Strive for continuous improvement and advancement of the breed through selective breeding and adherence to best practices.

  • Support for Cat Owners: Provide ongoing support and guidance to cat owners, ensuring the cats remain healthy and well-cared for throughout their lives.

  • Advocacy for Animal Welfare: Advocate for the welfare and humane treatment of all cats, promoting responsible pet ownership and animal rights.
